LMS BUILT HORWICH 1943 (Also 1944/5/6/7)

During the war years the design of LMS builders plate was changed both in material used and in style. Once again Horwich produces a perfect facsimile of the Derby plates of the same era. The style of letter chosen is Burn co Type 45 which is better suited for Iron casting. However Horwich continues the use of MR style year numbers unlike Derby who use Burn Co numbers. Cast Iron is the material used, these plates are often cracked at the bolt holes.
