BUILT HORWICH 1951 (Ex 4MT 2-6-0)

This style of builders plate has Burn Co Lettering (Type 45) and was applied to Horwich built locomotives post 1948 until loco building ended in the 60s. The style of plate seems to have been used also at Brighton and Swindon and in the latter two cases seems to have been used only for locomotives built to LMS designs. On the Horwich version is a pattern/drawing number above and to the right of the RH bolt hole reading 1120 (See also Built Crewe 1925).

Basic dimensions in inches- 10 & 1/2 X 6 (Hole centres 8 & 3/4)
Pattern Rarity- Common.
Special Features- Pattern/drawing number 1120 cast into front of plate.
